The music on ‘11th Hour’ is inspired by legends like Gentle Giant, Peter Hammill, Jethro Tull, Yes, Genesis and Peter Gabriel. Dodson’s songwriting, drumming, and vocals are central to the album’s dynamic and unique sound.
The journey to completing ‘11th Hour‘ was marked by countless acts of kindness, love, and generosity from Dodson’s family, friends and collaborators, with a lot of support throughout numerous obstacles, problems and challenges. Dodson’s life and work have been shaped by many influential people. Their impact and the experiences they forged helped sculpt the music he is so proud of today. This music on ‘11th Hour‘ is a testament to their influence and the love he feels for them.
Notably ‘11th Hour‘ features guest performances from renowned musicians such as Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Steven Wilson), Billy Sherwood (Yes, Asia), Oliver Wakeman (Yes, Strawbs), Michael Lewis (Jon Anderson, Jean-Luc Ponty) and Jane Getter (Jane Getter Premonition).
‘11th Hour‘ is dedicated to Dodson’s family. Dodson’s wife Maureen and her unwavering love and support, especially through the daily trials of caring for their special needs child, have been his rock. Dodson acknowledges her sacrifices and the incredible endurance she has shown. His daughters, Brittney and Brianna Dodson, hold a special place in his heart. Their inspiration and presence were vital during the making of ‘11th Hour‘, with the song “Sisters” dedicated to them.
Dodson hopes ‘11th Hour‘ enriches listeners’ lives, as that is the ultimate purpose of his music.
